Owen's Surgery

Please keep Owen in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow as he goes in for hernia surgery at 10:30 a.m. Owen is having an inguinal hernia repaired. This is a common surgery on infants; however, with Owen's fatty acid disorder it becomes more complicated. Owen cannot go for extended periods of time without eating, but since he is going to be put under for the surgery he has to fast for hours leading up to the surgery. We have spent a lot of time on the phone this past week, with Children's and our surgeon, trying to come up with the best protocol to follow to ensure that Owen does not have any problems. We think we have a good plan; however, it will be a long and stressful day for all of us as we anxiously await his return to us following surgery and his first bottle.

Thanks

We will definitely be on our knees in prayer for little Owen. Please update to let us know how he is doing. Let Pat and I know if there is anything we can do! As soon as he recovers we are going to have to get together and let the Owens meet each other!
