Owen's New Tricks!

Owen has picked up some new tricks this week. He has been trying to crawl for a while now, but has just been scooting along. Last night he finally figured out that it was faster to crawl on all fours. He has also started pulling to stand this week, and yesterday he sat up on his own for the first time. Last night we were playing in his floor before bedtime and he decided to do all of his new tricks in one little show that we happened to catch on tape. Here is Owen showing off his newest moves! The video isn't the best quality, but you can tell what's going on.

Spirit Week

Owen's daycare had "Spirit Week" a few weeks ago. It was so much fun to see all the kids dressed up each day. We took pictures throughout to week of Owen and a few of his classmates...getting infants together every morning for a group picture was quite interesting.

Halloween

Once again we're a little behind on our blogging...So here's a recap on Owen's first Halloween.

Our Halloween festivities started on Friday with Trick or Treat on the square. It was so much fun seeing all the kids in their costumes. Owen was a little too young to take part in all the trick or treating, but seemed to enjoy watching all the kids running around. He was so funny in his little monkey costume...I don't think he moved the entire time he was wearing it!

We spent Halloween night at home handing out candy to ALL the trick-or-treaters. Yes, that means that we skipped the RAZORBACK game...which is definitely against the rules at our house, but we didn't want to miss out on Owen's first Halloween. It was totally worth it! Owen helped me hand out all the candy and LOVED it! He was so curious about all the kids in their costumes and really enjoyed playing with all the candy...the skittles were his favorite!

"This one looks yummy!"

Is that not the cutest little monkey
you've ever seen?

"Can I eat these??"

"Halloween is fun!"

Family Pictures

We had Mika Beth take some family photos on Friday. It'll be a few weeks before we get to see all the pictures, but here's a sneak peek at her awesome work. If any of you are looking for a photographer...Mika Beth is GREAT!!

Pumpkins..

Owen was a little too young to carve pumpkins this year...so we let him create a master piece of his own. With some finger paint and a little help from mom and dad, he got to work! He had so much fun rubbing his hand through the paint and patting the pumpkin. But the pumpkin wasn't the only thing he got his hands on...I guess you could say we had quite a little mess on our hands!

Owen's master piece...

Owen also helped Josh clean out the big pumpkin! He was all about holding and patting the pumpkin, but wasn't too sure about the slimy pulp. He touched the pumpkin guts once and decided that was enough!

Pumpkin Patch

We made a family trip to the pumpkin patch at Dickey Farms a few weeks ago and had so much fun! We weren't sure how much fun a 6 month old would have at a pumpkin patch, he loves being outside so we thought we would give it a try... I thought we would at least get some good pictures for Owen's scrapbook that I have yet to start..Ha! But to our surprise, Owen seemed to really enjoy the pumpkin patch. He spent the whole time patting the pumpkins, trying to eat the pumpkins, and grabbing for the stems.

Owen really liked the huge pumpkins, they were almost as tall as he is and he loved crawling all over them!

DISCLAIMER: Owen is not really standing on his own. Josh would lean him against the pumpkin and move for a few seconds so I could snap a quick pic.

Here's our attempt at family photos. Owen was so worn out from all the pumpkin patch activities that he crashed for the first couple of pictures. It was a beautiful day with great fall scenery so we couldn't resist having a family photo op.

Owen also got to go on his first wagon ride while we were at the pumpkin patch. We weren't sure how well he would do sitting up, so we piled a lot of pumpkins around him and were on our way. The bumpy terrain made for a short and slow wagon ride. Owen was so distracted by all the pumpkins in his wagon...I'm not even sure he realized he was moving.
