Farmer's Market

Last weekend, we decided to try out the fat-free cinnamon rolls at the Stonemill Bakery....yes, I said Fat-free! Apparently they make it with fat-free yogurt instead of butter. They were really good and passed the taste test from all three of us. Stonemill also make low-fat blueberry muffins, so we'll definitely be going back! VLCAD has changed our restaurant choices dramatically... so it's always exciting to find a new restaurant where the whole family can eat.

After a delicious breakfast, we headed to the Fayetteville Farmer's Market. This was the first time we've been all summer and Owen didn't really know what to think. He just kept staring at everyone and holding onto Josh's hand!

Such a big boy...

It was so hot that we had to find shade and take a juice break. You can't really tell from the picture, but Owen's head was soak-n-wet with sweat.

Family Day

Yesterday was Family Day at Owen's daycare, so all the parent's joined the kids for lunch. We had grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, and smores'. It was so fun to see the kid's reactions....they all kept looking at the mommies and daddies like "why are you here".

Time for smores'!!! This was Owen's first time to have chocolate...and he loved it! After he tasted the chocolate, he didn't care much about the gram cracker and marshmallows....he just kept shoveling in the chocolate! (NO, this is not part of his diet, but we knew about the smores' ahead of time and adjusted his other meals accordingly...we just wanted him to be able to partake in all the Family Day activities).

Beaver Lake

We hit the lake again with the Watkins family a few weeks ago. Owen had so much fun playing with Layla and Brenner that he didn't even notice he was wearing a life jacket...or maybe he just liked it better because it was a "boy's" life jacket!

Orange Mango

Owen finally got to try Orange Mango a few weeks ago and he LOVED it!!

Picking out yogurt with GiGi...

Showing daddy the toppings he wanted...

the finished product...cheesecake yogurt with raspberries, blueberries, black berries, and mango

Owen loved it so much that he wouldn't even let Josh take a bite...he ate the whole thing by himself!

He was a wildman afterwards...

4th of July

We spent the 4th of July on Lake Hamilton. It was Owen's first time to lake (that he can remember)....and he had a blast! The only problem was the life jacket. It was close to nap time when we got on the boat and Owen wanted nothing to do with the life jacket. But once we got going, he took a nap and when he woke up...he had forgotten all about the life jacket.

Snoozing on the boat...and yes he's wearing a girls life jacket...it was the only one we had that he would wear! Josh only got asked once if it was his daughter...Ha!

Weekend in Hot Springs...

A few weekends ago, we took a family road trip to Hot Springs for a wedding.

Owen trying his had at the lottery during the ride...
Owen had an eventful day on Saturday. We spent the day at Aunt Jill's playing outside with the horses, dogs, and slip-n-slide. This was Owen's first experience with horses and he was not a fan. He stopped when we got close to the gate, made Josh pick him up, held on tightly, and didn't really want to touch them...he was definitely unsure of them!

He loved the slip-n-slide...

"this feels good!"
"this is fun"
"I can pull it myself daddy"
After all the fun outside, he crashed...
After a nap and showers, we headed to the wedding. Brittany and Jackson got married in the chapel at Garvan Gardens....it was gorgeous! I was a little worried about how Owen would act during the ceremony, but he was great. He sat quietly in my lap and watched the whole thing...I was amazed! He was tempted to get down and go after the flower pedals that the flower girls had tossed, but luckily he was easily distracted by the music.

You can't really tell, but this is a picture of Owen pushing Josh away...
He loved dancing with mommy, but apparently didn't want to dance with daddy. Every time Josh would try to dance with us, he would push him away...it was hilarious!
