Birthday Celebration continued....

We celebrated Owen's Birthday as a family on Friday. Josh and I took off to spend the day with him and Papa Bart came in town too, so he got to spend the day with us as well. We started the day off by sleeping in and eating yummy (low-fat) cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Then we headed to the Library...

This was Owen's first trip to the Library...and he did seem to care much for the books. He picked up a few, but preferred to play with the puzzles and the computers. I think he may associate books with bedtime! Ha!

He liked playing the toddler games on the computer, but he was not a fan of wearing the head phones. He would put them on for a few seconds (at most 1 min) and then pull them off again.

We ended up checking out quite a few books....and Owen was all about the check out process. He only read a few books while we were at the Library, but really enjoyed them at bed time that night.

After the Library, we head to Lofin Joes for lunch and then to Orange Leaf for some frozen yogurt. The "ice cream" was Owen's favorite!!! He picked out his own flavors and all the toppings...luckily he still thinks that fruit is the only topping you can put on ice cream!

He chose chocolate and strawberry ice cream and pulled the lever himself....

diggin' in...

and the sugar kicks in...

We ended the day at Chuck E Cheese's! This was also Owen's first trip to Chuck E Cheese's...and he was a little overwhelmed at first. He walked around staring at everything with his mouth wide open for the first 10 minutes....and then he jumped right in! Luckily Papa Bart and Gigi were there to help keep up with the "wild man"!

We played for a little while and then took a break for some pizza and juice!

Owen attempting to play skee ball...

Then he figured out his own way to play....

This was one of Owen's favorite games....and he was really good at it! Josh showed him how to do it the first time and he caught right on. He won every time without help! As you can tell from the picture, it took a lot of concentration!

Owen really enjoyed this one! He was too short to pedal, so daddy helped him out!
