Easter Weekend

So, I'm way behind on posting AGAIN.  We've been really busy and I have a ton of things to post, but I feel like I have to pick up from where I left off.... so here goes!

Easter weekend was packed full of fun with family and friends

We grilled out on Saturday night with Gigi, Papa Joe, Beema, Danielle and Travis.  And of course we ended the night with dying Easter eggs.  Owen was really in to it this year and was all about doing it himself!

putting his signature on his artwork....

The Easter Bunny left a lot of fun goodies for both of the kids...

Owen didn't really understand why he woke up to baskets from the Easter Bunny, but he was really excited about the Easter eggs that looked like baseballs, footballs, and soccer balls....especially because they were filled with candy!

Showing Ava Kate her toys that the Easter Bunny left....so sweet!

Ava Kate's favorite thing from her Easter basket...Lightning McQueen!

She also LOVED the ribbon and cellophane....she would have played with it all morning if we didn't have to leave for church!  Ha!

Ava Kate stylin' in her new sun hat...

A few attempts at a family picture after church....getting all four of us to look and smile at the camera at the same time is quiet the chore!

Sweet baby girl...

We had a fun filled Easter celebration with Josh's work family on Sunday after noon.  It was a great time with good food and a ton of fun games for the kids....bounce houses, Easter egg hunts, pinatas, and much more!

Owen was a little shy at first but it didn't take long for him to warn up and join in all the fun....

This was Owen's first experience with a pinata.  He got a few good hits before passing the bat on to the next kiddo....

getting a little help from daddy...

The Easter Egg Hunt!  They had a separate hunt for the big kids and little kids, and all the eggs were just laying out in the open for all the little kids.  Owen was super excited about running and finding the eggs!

When they said "go" Owen took off and ran past half of the eggs because they didn't look like "eggs"! Ha!  Some were small robots and other characters filled with candy, but he was only going after the "real" plastic Easter eggs.  He had so much fun and ended up with a bucket full of eggs and candy!

There was also a coin hunt, where they tossed a bunch of coins (pennies, quarters, nickels, dimes, and half dollars) in a pile of wood chips and then set the kids free!  I think this was the funniest game to sit back and watch....

Josh and Owen also did a sack race, but my camera battery went dead so I didn't get any pictures.  It was quiet the sight!  Josh ended up cheating in the end and picked Owen up and just ran....Owen thought it was hilarious!!
