It's a Girl!!
Ava Kate Summerford
Due: October 22, 2011
We had a level II ultrasound on the 25th at Willow Creek. Dr. Birch decided that we should forgo the regular 20 week ultrasound due to all the concerns we had during my pregnancy with Owen...just as a precaution. It was done via satellite with a doctor and genetic counselor from UAMS and everything looked great.
They spent about an hour looking at everything and taking all their measurements. Because there were no concerns going into this ultrasound, Josh and I just sat there taking it all in and enjoying every minute of it!! (It was so much different than the level II ultrasound with Owen....we were actually able to relax!)
Ava's feet....
We told them that we were wanting to know the sex....and it didn't take long for them to tell us that it was a GIRL! Ava gave them a good showing, so there shouldn't be any surprises at delivery! She was also very active during the ultrasound and made them work for most of the measurements. (I think the Dr. Pepper I have before the ultrasound might of had be a contributing factor..Ha!) When she wasn't on the move, she was laying on her back with one arm behind her head and her legs crossed! It was funny, because that was exactly how I was laying throughout the ultrasound...like mother, like daughter!
So sweet....
We didn't take Owen with us to the ultrasound because we knew we needed to concentrate on what was going on and not the 2 year old running around the room. Ha! So, we sat down with him and showed him all the pictures of baby Ava when we got home that night. He just sat there point to each picture saying "Aba, Aba" aka Ava. And when we would ask him if it was his baby sister he would say "yea" with a big smile on his face. It was so sweet! I wish I would have thought to get the video camera!
