A family outing to the Memphis Zoo in early May....
We thought a random Thursday would be a great time to go to the zoo, but so did EVERY school in Memphis. Apparently it was a great day for field trips as well....so it was pretty busy for the first few hours!
Our first stop...the sea lion show!
family pic...
my boys...
The day started out perfect....warm and overcast, but by the afternoon the sun was out and it turned HOT!!
A rest break in the shade for mommy and daddy....
checking out the animals from Papa Bart's shoulders....
Ava Kate and Gigi...
Owen loved seeing ALL the animals, but the Aquarium was by far his favorite! He loved pointing out all the fish and finding "nemo"!
Josh and I were really excited about the Dinosaur exhibit...because we knew Owen would absolutely love it! BUT that wasn't exactly how it played out! The dinosaurs looked "real", moved, roared, AND really scared Owen! He wanted to he held or to hide behind one of us through the entire exhibit. He was even sticking out his tongue at the dinosaurs when they roared at him! Ha! But...by the time we made it through the exhibit (the first time) he decided that he liked the dinosaurs and wanted to go back and look at all of them again. He ended up enjoying it so much that we had a hard time getting him to leave!
daddy being silly....
sticking out his tongue at the dinosaur...
a photo opt with the dinosaur.....I think he would have played on this dinosaur the entire day if we would have let him!
We had a blast and enjoyed spending some family time with Papa Bart and Gigi!
