Second ultrasound... Is it a boy?!?

We had another ultrasound on Thursday. The Loving Choices clinic in Fayetteville was offering free ultrasounds so they could train students on how to use the machines and what to look for. We originally wanted to get an appointment towards the middle of October, with the hopes that they might be able to tell us the sex of the baby. When I called to make the appointment all of the free appointment slots were booked so we put our name on the list in case anyone cancelled. About ten minutes after I hung up I got a call saying that someone cancelled and we could come on Thursday. We jumped at the chance to see our baby for the second time in just over a week!
The pictures are a little blurry, but there is a (singular) baby in there!

As soon as we got into the room I was already asking if the ultrasound tech could tell us what the baby is! She said she would try, but had never been able to tell this early before. As soon as she started the ultrasound we got a good view of the baby's bottom, she made a noise and Josh said "it's a boy!". The ultrasound tech seemed surprised and asked if Josh saw that too, I think he was just hopeful, but she seemed to think he might be right! She continued the ultrasound measuring everything on the baby. Everything went really well and we spent about 30 minutes looking at all different angles of the baby, it was very exciting and everything looked good! The baby measured about four days ahead which is good! After she had seen everything that she wanted to see she began trying to get another good angle to see what the baby might be. She looked at several angles and kept telling us that it is still early and she couldn't be 100%, but seemed pretty confident that it is a boy!

First Baby Pics!

We had our first official doctor's visit today! We have been soooo excited to hear the heartbeat since the day we scheduled this appointment 5 weeks ago. When the nurse came and got us from the waiting room she told us she was taking us to an ultrasound room! Josh and I both immediately looked at each other and couldn't hide the excitement. As we sat in the room waiting for the doctor we weren't quite sure what was going on, but we were hoping she would do the ultrasound so we could get our first peek at little gizmo. As soon as Dr. Birch came in she said we were going to do an ultrasound and I was thrilled. She turned on the machine, stuck it to my belly and there was our baby! We couldn't tell what was what, but with a little explanation we started to figure it out. As Dr. Birch pushed on my belly, little gizmo responded by waving arms, kicking feet, and turning around and around. It was amazing! We measured at 12 weeks and 1 day which is right on with my due date, and Dr. Birch said everything looked good. After the exam was over we left on cloud nine. It was amazing to see our baby and know that everything is going good. Now, once again, we cannot wait for the next appointment when we get to see our baby again!
