Pumpkin Patch

We made a family trip to the pumpkin patch at Dickey Farms a few weeks ago and had so much fun! We weren't sure how much fun a 6 month old would have at a pumpkin patch, he loves being outside so we thought we would give it a try... I thought we would at least get some good pictures for Owen's scrapbook that I have yet to start..Ha! But to our surprise, Owen seemed to really enjoy the pumpkin patch. He spent the whole time patting the pumpkins, trying to eat the pumpkins, and grabbing for the stems.

Owen really liked the huge pumpkins, they were almost as tall as he is and he loved crawling all over them!

DISCLAIMER: Owen is not really standing on his own. Josh would lean him against the pumpkin and move for a few seconds so I could snap a quick pic.

Here's our attempt at family photos. Owen was so worn out from all the pumpkin patch activities that he crashed for the first couple of pictures. It was a beautiful day with great fall scenery so we couldn't resist having a family photo op.

Owen also got to go on his first wagon ride while we were at the pumpkin patch. We weren't sure how well he would do sitting up, so we piled a lot of pumpkins around him and were on our way. The bumpy terrain made for a short and slow wagon ride. Owen was so distracted by all the pumpkins in his wagon...I'm not even sure he realized he was moving.

Picnic

For Owen's 6 month birthday, we celebrated with a family picnic at Lake Fayetteville. It was a perfect day...mid 80's, sunny, with a light breeze. After church, we stopped by Panera to get a few sandwiches and then headed to the park. Owen showed off his big boy skills during our picnic by sitting up all by himself. He looked so grown up just sitting there looking around at everything. After lunch we took a short stroll around Lake Fayetteville and then headed home for a nap. Owen loves being outside, so it was the perfect way to celebrate his 1/2 birthday! We had so much fun...I think there will be a lot of family picnics in our future.

Photo op with daddy...

"There's nothing to this sitting up thing.."

"Can we have a picnic everyday?"

Sippy Cup!

Owen has started drinking his juice from a sippy cup. He's such a big boy! He won't hold his own bottle, but he loves holding his cup...I guess the handles help. It took him a little while to figure out how to drink from it, but I think he's starting to get the hang of it. Juice time is definitely his favorite part of the day...he gets so excited as soon as he sees his sippy cup!

"What am I suppose to do with this thing?"

"Oh"

"I've got this"
