Music and Friends

We enjoyed another fun night at Concert in the Park! The Hogues joined us and the kids had a blast playing together. It took them (by them, I mean Owen) a little while to warm up but then he was a wild man!

Mackenzie really liked dancing....
Owen being silly....
Owen and Mackenzie enjoyed a little golf game during the concert...

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent part of Memorial Day weekend with the Childers at the Lake. We had a great time grilling out, swimming, and just relaxing!

It was Owen and Charley's first time in the pool this summer, so it took them a little while to get warmed up. But once they were warmed up...there was no stopping them!! Jumping in was definitely their favorite!

Poor things skipped their nap and were completely exhausted after all the swimming....
We didn't actually get in the lake because it was soooo dirty. I don't think it bothered the kids....they just enjoyed playing with each other!

We came home from the lake on Sunday afternoon and spent the rest of the weekend at the pool!
chillin'
Beema cooked a delicious Memorial Day dinner that we all devoured!

Josh's Birthday....

We celebrated Josh's 29th birthday on May 27th....just one more year til the big 30!! He started his day with a home cooked meal from Anna! She's definitely getting domesticated living with us this summer...Ha!!

Owen absolutely loves cards and gets so excited when they're opened. The singing ones are his favorite....so of course that's what he pick out for daddy!
After a day at work and a game of golf, we continued the Birthday celebration with a family dinner. The menu: Salad, Twice Baked Potatoes, Ribs, Bacon wrapped Green Beans, and bread.

And a birthday celebration wouldn't be complete without Josh's favorite Chocolate pie!!
Josh's turn to blow out the candles....
Take 2....with Owen's help!!

Concert in the Park...

I'm so excited that the summer concert series has started at Gully park. It's definitely one of our favorite things to do as a family!! There's nothing better than a picnic dinner and a concert outside on a summer night!

Weekend Visitors.....

Papa Bart and Gigi came for a visit a few weeks ago! Owen loved all the attention and was so excited to have the undivided attention for the entire weekend!

On Saturday, went shopping and enjoyed a delicious lunch at JJ's bar and grill!

Playing at Bella's....
Owen loved the fountain at the Promenade! He kept asking for more "monies" to throw in....

Father's Day Weekend....

We started our weekend at the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning! We've been so busy every weekend, that this was the first opportunity we've had to attend the Farmer's Market. The music and puppy dogs were Owen's favorite part!

A rest break for some juice and a picture...
This is his new "cheeze" face
We spent the rest of the day at the pool. Owen has become quite the little fish! He likes to jump in and swim by himself (with floaties on) to the steps, climb out, and then jump in again. He does this over and over again til he's completely worn out. It was so hot that we were all in the pool the whole time and forgot to take any pictures.

After the pool and a nap, we grilled out! The menu: Kabobs from Richard's Meat Market, grilled corn, baked potatoes, salad, and ice cream sandwiches. We all ate entirely too much!

Owen decided to take a break from eating to play with his water toys...
Lovin' the ice cream sandwich...

Owen was so excited about the Father's Day card he picked out, that he decided to wake Daddy up!
so sweet...

We also made him a breakfast pizza that was soooo delicious!

After breakfast, we let Josh open his Father's Day presents....

Our little Father's Day project! It turned out perfect and Josh absolutely loved it!!

Josh's "real" father's day present was not a secret.... a new set of golf clubs!!
We had him order them himself because there was no way Owen and I would get the right ones!

Home Improvement weekend.....

Last weekend turned into a "do it yourself" painting weekend at the Summerford house! A lot of room changes needed to take place before the arrival of Ava Kate and we decided to start with painting! Our original plan was to hire someone to do it for us.....but after getting some really expensive quotes, we decided to do it ourselves! It was a long weekend and a lot of work, but we managed to knock out 2 rooms in 2 days AND ended up saving about $600!!

painting the office...

the ceiling was Josh's favorite...Ha!

Josh did most of the work, but Owen and I managed to help a little! Owen thought he was such a big boy when he got to help with the clean up process. He loved throwing away all the tape!!

The office went from a yellow (that was there when we moved in) to a light gray...and we absolutely love it!! This room will be transitioning from an office to a sitting room/guest bedroom/office.

Owen's room needed to change to a "big boy" room so that Ava Kate could have his furniture, but this also meant that we needed to change the paint color in his room. So we decided to tackle this project on Saturday. Papa Joe and Beema came over to help move all of Owen's baby furniture out and then took Owen with them so Josh and I could both focus on painting.

We took a break Saturday afternoon to go to Harper's 1st Birthday Party! Owen had a great time and loved eating the monkey bread and ice cream!

diggin' in!!

After a few hour of fun at the birthday party, Owen headed back to Papa Joe and Beema's to spend the night! We were afraid he might get upset if he saw his room is such disarray... so we thought it would be best if the room was finished when he came home.

Owen's room went from tan to gray (just one shade darker than the office). We ended up painting his room a lot earlier than I expected, so not all of his furniture is in yet. More pictures to come when his "big boy" Razorback room is complete....
