Thomas & Friends

We took Owen to Thomas & Friends at the Walton Arts Center this afternoon.

We told him last night and this morning that we were going to see "trains" and he was super excited! When I dropped him off at daycare this morning, he said "I see trains!"

This was his first show and he did great! He doesn't really know much about Thomas, but he loves trains, so we knew he would enjoy it! His favorite thing was pointing out all the trains!

Owen....

Is excited to announce....

...that he is going to be a BIG BROTHER!!!

We're expecting baby Summerford #2 October 25th!

If you ask Owen where the baby is...he raises my shirt up and points to my belly saying "baby, baby". He also seems to think it's a baby boy!!

Easter Festivities...

The Easter bunny left Owen an early present on Saturday night...

He went straight for the "bunny" marshmallows...
But he quickly realized the Easter bunny also left him his own golf clubs. They were his absolute favorite! He hit golf balls around the house forever! I'm ready for warm/dry weather so the golf game can move outside! ha!
When the golf game was over, he discovered the candy...
The chocolate marshmallow bunnies were his favorite...

We started Easter Sunday at church with my family and the Summerfords. It's typically packed at our church on Easter Sunday, so we decided to try the 8:30 contemporary service...and yes, we actually made it on time! For those of you who know us, that's a BIG deal. Owen stayed in "big" church and actually made it through the entire service without being too much of a distraction. He really liked watching the band!

The Easter bunny surprised Owen with another present after his nap! We had planned to have a big Easter egg hunt, but since the weather was soooo bad....we moved everything indoors and and had an Easter egg hunt inside with plastic eggs.

All of Owen's eggs had jelly beans and other low-fat candy....but he found Aunt Anna's basket and thought her candy looked better! ha!

Dying Easter Eggs...

We spent Easter weekend with family and friends! Which means Owen got completely spoiled! All the attention started on Friday with the arrival of Papa Bart and GiGi...and Owen LOVED every minute of it!

We were blessed with a lot of rainy weather over the weekend...so we spent the majority of the time at home eating, playing, visiting, AND potty training. This (potty training) was not the most successful with all the grandparents...Owen decided that playing/entertaining everyone was way more entertaining than going potty! ha!

And a Easter weekend wouldn't be complete without dying Easter eggs! Here are a few pictures of the process.... Owen was super serious and wanted to be completely independent with all of it! After a few spills, cracked eggs, and wiping his colorfully died hands on his shirt, we quickly realized that a change of clothes was going to be necessary. Once again, Owen was the center of attention and very proud of his success in dying and decorating 2 dozen eggs!

Sunday...

Owen's school had an Easter egg hunt at Gulley Park on Sunday. We were thirty minutes late as usually and actually missed the "hunt" but Owen enjoyed seeing some of his teachers and friends. He also really like watching some of the parents fly kites for the kids...he was so amazed, he just stood there staring.

The only Easter basket we could find at the house was pink and purple and way too girly so Owen ended up taking one of his sand buckets. He, however, thought it was a hat and decided to wear it on his head the whole way to the park.

Since we missed most of the Easter festivities, we decided to let Owen run out some of his energy on the playground. He had so much fun running, climbing, and just being silly. I think he could have stayed there all day!
